Project Management is covered in the Project Execution phase though applies equally to the Project Planning phase where the PM’s role is to oversee the Engineering.
Project Managers serve as a single point of contact between child management plans, Stakeholders/Clients and Sub-Contractors.
In this context, the primary objective of Project Management is to grease the tracks for the project team to implement the agreed scope.

Project Management Execution
Project Management Execution brings together all child management plans into a cohesive unit and manages the conduit between the Project and the Client/Stakeholders.
Construction Kick-off Meeting / Presentation
Following on from Project Planning it is useful to conduct a Kick-off meeting prior to Construction starting. The Kick-off meeting is intended for key Personnel and reinforces key elements of the Project Execution Plan (PEP) and the transfer of management from the Engineering team to the Construction team:
Engineering / Field Engineering
Project Management team confirms the extent of Engineering services required for the project and includes:
- Status Of Existing Engineering
- Disciplines required
- Existing services / engineering
- Tie-ins or shutdowns

Contracts And Procurement
The Project Management team works with the Contracts and Procurement team to manage the contract through to completion via periodic meetings to discuss:

- Engineering / Request For Information (RFI)

- Quality / Non-conformance
- Early Warning Notices (EWN)
Construction
The Project Management team works alongside the Construction Management team with the primary aim of greasing the tracks for the construction activities which includes:
- Permitting
- Authorisations
- Work Front determination and availability
- Beneficial Occupation by the Contractor
- Interfacing with adjacent works
- Interfacing with predecessor and successor Contract Works
- Materials Management / laydowns / site deliveries
Safety, Environment, Cultural and Heritage
The Project Management teams works with the SHEMS management team to audit respective works and ensure safe systems of work are implemented. Activities include:
